Peoria, Ill. - Sophomore Molly Desotell had a top-50 finish in a field of 306 runners in the 38-team Red Division Friday to lead Tommie Women's Cross Country to a 25th-place team showing at the Bradley Pink Classic.
Northwestern (68), Illinois (84) and Bradley (105) took the top three team places. Summit League teams were South Dakota State (10th, 270); North Dakota (19th, 573); St. Thomas (25th, 682); and Western Illinois (36th, 993).
Nearly every St. Thomas runner in the Red or White Division had a personal best-time for 6,000 meters, many by 30-60 seconds.
Desotell clocked 21:28 -- her previous 6K best was 21:58 at the same race as a freshman last October.
Other runners for the Purple were Ava Pankratz (132nd, 22:17), Christina Bolcer (186th, 22:53), Morgan Ede (193rd, 23:02), Rhynn Paulsen (199th, 23:07), Lauren Ellefson (202nd, 23:09), Gabby Witschen (224th, 23:28) and Amaya Lyrek (226th, 23:30).
