St. Thomas Women's Track and Field won two events and holds a slight lead in the team standings through Friday competition at the MIAC Championships contested on campus at O'Shaughnessy Stadium.
With seven of 22 events completed, the Tommies have 46 points followed next by St. Olaf (40), Concordia-Moorhead (34), Hamline (31), Gustavus (29) and St. Ben's (28).
Saturday's field events start at 2 p.m., while running finals start at 3 p.m.
Junior Steph Kretlow had a career-best 19-4 1-4 leap to win the long jump. That mark is tied for second best nationally in 2019. Kretlow qualified for indoor nationals and placed ninth.
Kendall Novak (11-6 1-4), Mariah Terhaar (11-2 1-4) and Jordan Sifferle (10-10 1-4) placed 1-2-5 in the pole vault for 23 points. Sifferle scored four points last weekend as she placed fifth in the heptathlon.
