Tommie senior Grace Bordson on Tuesday was named MIAC Indoor Track's Field Athlete of the Week. It's her fourth such MIAC weekly honor on her indoor and outdoor career.
A native of Hutchnson, Minn., and an All-America honor in 2018, Bordson won the high jump at Friday's Opener meet in 5-4 3-4, a top-15 national mark. In December she cleared 5-5 3-4, and that height currently ranks 10th in Division III.
Last season she broke through to take eighth at indoor nationals and 12th at outdoor nationals. She was the 2018 MIAC indoor champ, and a conference runner-up in the 2018 outdoor and 2017 indoor meets.
Bordson cleared a career-best 5-7 1-4 last May -- just 1-4 inch off Nina Grossman's 1996 school record.
The Tommies compete Friday at home in the UST Invite.
