Women's Hockey sweeps Bethel, stays tied for lead

Alyssa Wallace scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period and Eryn Cooley had 15 saves Saturday afternoon as No. 10-ranked Tommie Women's Hockey recorded a 2-1 home win win over Bethel and a sweep of their weekend series.

Freshman Allie Monrean scored the game's first goal for the Tommies.

St. Thomas (5-1-2 overall, 4-0 MIAC) shared the early conference lead with Gustavus.

The Toms play at the Lake Forest tournament next Friday and Saturday.

Maddy Fiedler scored two goals and Eryn Cooley had 15 saves in a shutout as No. 10-ranked Tommie Women's Hockey recorded a 5-0 road win over Bethel Friday night in Blaine.

Allie Monrean scored a power-play goal, Estee Frantz had a short-handed goal and Emma Larson also scored.

The Tommies (4-1-2 overall, 3-0 MIAC) pushed their unbeaten streak to six.

The teams play again Saturday afternoon in Mendota Heights (2 p.m.) to close the weekend series.
