Tommie Men's Tennis participated in the ITA Midwest Regional tournament this weekend in St. Peter.

Leading the way were fourth-round (round of 16) performances in the ITA Midwest singles draw by freshmen Noah LaTour and Will Schneider. Both lost close decisions to UW-Eau Claire and Gustavus players, respectively.

Junior Nick Vossen advanced to the third round of the main division backdraw before losing to his opponent from Grinnell.

The Toms' 18 match wins over the two days marked a significant improvement over the one match win there in 2018.

Coach Ken Cychosz notes the tremendous improvement in the team so far in 2019-20.

"This group is very impressive in its work ethic and team chemistry," he said. "The fall practice regiment and positive court attitude really showed in our results this weekend. We're looking forward to how this carries over into the spring season."

The team will resume practice in January with its first match at UW-Eau Claire on January 31.
