Men's Swim-Dive gets two Scholar AAs

St. Thomas Men's Swim-Dive has two individuals receive Scholar All-America honorable mention for 2018-19 by the Collegiate Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

Both athletes had grade-point averages of 3.50 or better in 2018-19 and met the "B" qualifying standard for nationals.

Sophomore Adam Boerner, a Psychology major from Chaska, Minn., was the conference champ in the 1,650 free.

Freshman Noah Faldet, an Entrepreneurship major from Decorah, Iowa, broke a school record in the 100 breaststroke and was part of a new school record in the 200 medley relay.

Coach Scott Blanchard's men's team, the MIAC runner-up, had a 3.33 team gpa last semester, and has 12 student-athletes with cumulative gpas of 3.50 or better.

Tommie Women's Swim-Dive had five Scholar All-America recipients:

First-team honorees were freshman Anna Astrup, an Actuarial Science major from Fargo, N.D.; and juniors Ashley Christensen, a Psychology major from Cretin-Derham Hall, and Kirsten Nelson, an Actuarial Science and Econ double major from Eden Prairie, Minn. That trio qualified to compete in several relays in the NCAA Championships.

Freshman diver Emily Weldon, an Actuarial Science major from Hastings, Minn., and sophomore Gretchen Behrens of Oak Forest, Ill., received honorable mention, as regional diving or "B" cut qualifiers.

Blanchard's women's team, the MIAC champion, had a 3.49 team gpa last semester, and has 18 student-athletes with cumulative gpas of 3.50 or better.
