No. 24-ranked Tommie Men's Golf tied for second place out of 17 teams at the season-opening 36-hole Augsburg Fall Invite. The two-day event concluded Sunday.

The host Auggies posted a pair of excellent 289 rounds for a 578 winning total and a seven-shot cushion over UST and the University of Manitoba (585 each).

UST shot 300 on Saturday, then recorded one of the top five rounds in program history with Sunday's 285 score -- the low round by any team on the weekend.

Senior All-America Pete Sienko and freshman teammate Max McGlade each shot 68s on Sunday, tied for the second best score of the day. Pete Sienko and Shane Sienko tied for seventh out of 107 players at 144, while Nick Brann and McGlade finished at 145 to share 10th place.

Pete Sienko (68), Brann (70), Shane Sienko (72), Derek Farrell (73) and Owen Nowicki (75) rounded out Sunday's scores for the Toms' top team.

McGlade helped St. Thomas' No. 2 team place sixth at 593 and beat eight varsity No. 1 teams. That team had rounds of 302 and 291. Riley Gannon (73-74/147) and Emmet Herb (76-72/148) also had top-25 individual finishes on the weekend.

A third Tommie team placed 13th at 623 (317-306), led by Eric Chambers' 75-75/150.
