Baseball drops two road games at Stout

Host UW-Stout ran its win streak to six as it rolled to a 9-2, 7-1 non-conference baseball sweep of St. Thomas Thursday in Menomonie, Wis.

Four pitchers allowed one walk, one double and 11 singles over 14 innings for Stout (20-15).

The Tommies (17-16), who were eliminated from MIAC playoff contention Wednesday, have lost eight of their last nine games.

Avery Lehman had three hits on the day; Evan Kolker had two hits and two RBI in the opener; and Sam Cobbs had an RBI double in game two.

Four St. Thomas pitchers allowed eight earned runs and eight unearned runs following some defensive breakdowns.

The fifth-place Toms close the season with two home afternoon doubleheaders: Saturday against Augsburg (1 p.m.), and Monday against Wartburg (2:30 p.m.).
