Bobbi's Back: Women's Basketball storms to 7-0 start

After missing her last 68 games since her freshman season, senior guard Bobbi Brendefur had a successful return to the rotation to help No. 3-ranked St. Thomas Women's Basketball in Saturday's 92-30 home win over Carleton at Schoenecker Arena.

Brendefur came off the bench to sink 4-of-4 from 3-point range and finish with 16 points in her first game since March 11, 2016.

After playing in 24 of 30 games as a freshman, Brendefur injured her knee in the 2016-17 preseason and has endured a slow but steady rehab ever since.

Senior All-America Hannah Spaulding finished with 19 points, eight rebounds and three blocks in 21 minutes of play, making all seven shots from the field and all four at the foul line. Kaylie Brazil had 12 points and four assists. That led the Tommies (7-0 overall, 3-0 MIAC) to their 57th consecutive win against conference opponents.

The host team, which led 49-21 at halftime, shot 52 percent from the field, made 17-of-18 foul shots, and had only 12 turnovers.

St. Thomas plays Wednesday at Concordia-Moorhead.
