Women's T&F 4x800 takes third at Drake
April 28, 2012St, Thomas took third out of 17 teams in Saturday's women's 4x800 relay at the Drake Relays in Des Moines. UST ran 9:12.24 with juniors Taylor Berg and Larissa Peyton, soph Erin Sheehan and freshman Kayla Goeman. Oklahoma Baptist and Wartburg placed 1-2, and Augustana (S.D.) was fourth.
In Friday's distance medley, Berg anchored St. Thomas to second place out of 17 teams, just behind Augustana (S.D.) by less than two seconds in 11:49.40. Goeman, sophomore Emily Van Heel and Peyton and Berg comprised the UST quartet.
At Friday night's Simpson Invite in Indianola, Iowa, Jenny McNamara took sixth place in the steeplechase (12:01.35).
