Women's Swimming has nine firsts, tops Cobbers, Scots

The Tommie women's swimming and diving team won both relays and seven individual races in Saturday's three-team competition in Moorhead against Concordia and Macalester. UST topped the Cobbers 106-36, and beat Macalester 96-41.

Jena Root had a hand in three firsts. She won the 100 free (57.32), the 100 back (62.44) and led off the 200 free relay which clocked 1:46.21 with three freshmen, Jenny Bruno, Wendy Consoer and Alexis Rodarmel.

Bruno also swam on the winning 200 medley relay with freshman Karly Harrod and Amy Krueger and Maddie Frost in 2:01.2.

Harrod won the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.53. Frost won the 200 backstroke in 2:23.37. Rodarmel won the 200 free in 2:07.82. Ali Krieger won the 200 fly in 2:29.68. Freshman Katie Bromback won the 100 fly in 1:03.42.

The Tommies are off next weekend and compete Nov. 21 at the Macalester Invite. They will take part in Tuesday's Hour of Power charity training event at Macalester at 4 p.m.
