Women's Golf takes sixth at Wartburg Invite

The St. Thomas women's golf team finished sixth out of 20 teams, just four strokes out of third place, in the Wartburg Invitational in Waverly, Iowa.

Washington (Mo.) (631) rallied to post an 11-stroke win over host Wartburg (642). Central (Iowa) (661) and Carleton (661) shared third. St. Olaf (663) and UST (665) placed fifth and sixth.

Amy Anderson had the third best round of Sunday with a 76 and placed fifth out of 103 players at 155. Katie Mich tied for 14th at 163. Shannon Richter shot 83 and Cassy Norton shot 86.

St. Thomas had just four players on the trip and had to use every score each day.

The St. Thomas women's golf team sits in fourth place out of 20 teams at the halfway point of the Wartburg Invitational in Waverly, Iowa. The tournament concludes with 18 holes on Sunday.

The host Knights lead at 323, followed by Washington (Mo.) at 325, Central (Iowa) at 330, St. Thomas (335) and Carleton (336).

Katie Mich shot 78 and is in fifth place in a field of 104; Amy Anderson shot 79 and is tied for sixth; Shannon Richter shot 88; and Cassy Norton shot 90.
