The St. Thomas women's golf team was in third after round one and eventually placed fifth out of 20 teams at the Division III Classic in Lake City. The two-day, 26-hole competition concluded Sunday.
The Toms shot 322-337/659. With All-American Laura Heck recovering from an injury, they had just four players and had to use all four scores each day.
Gustavus (628), Wartburg (648), St. Ben's (650), St. Olaf (651), UST (659) and Carleton (666) took the first six spots.
Senior Amy Anderson tied for the low round on Saturday at 76. She shot 80 on Sunday and her 156 score tied for fifth out of 101 entrants. Katie Mich tied for 14th with rounds of 80-82/162. Cassy Norton tied for 30th at 85-83/168. Shannon Richter shot 81-92/173.
The Tommies will play next weekend in the Southwest Minnesota State Invitational.
