
St. Thomas forward Taylor Young (JR-Edina) was tabbed a Division III women's basketball Preseason first-team All-America by D3hoops.com.
Young was named one of 20 All-America honorees by D3hoops.com last March, a fourth-team All-America, after leading UST to 30 consecutive wins and a third-place national finish. Young was the lone non senior or junior named to the 20-player honor team.
The No. 3-ranked Tommies start their season Nov. 16-17 at the Millikin (Ill.) tournament, where they will face No. 1 Calvin in the season opener. Their first home game, and third overall, is Nov. 25 against No. 7 UW-Stevens Point.
Young led the 31-2 Tommies in scoring (13.4) and free-throw proficiency (.817). She also averaged 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists. In two seasons (59 games), she's helped the Tommies post a 51-9 record and has collected 716 points, 249 rebounds and 132 assists while converting 79 percent at the foul line.
