Women's Hoops gets OT victory over Mac

Junior center Rachel Booth had 24 points, nine rebounds and seven blocks and the host Tommies (13-5 overall, 10-5 MIAC) rallied from a seven-point deficit in the last 6:00 of regulation and outlasted Macalester (11-7, 11-4) in overtime in MIAC women's basketball play at CU's Gangelhoff Center.  

The Tommies, who have won four of their last five, never trailed in overtime and shot 55% on the game. UST sophomore Ali Johnson scored 18 points, and fellow soph Kassie Robinson sparked the comeback as she scored 12 points on 5-for-5 shooting.  

The Scots' Jessica Rene made three free throws with 21 seconds left to cut the Tommie lead to 76-75. The Scots forced a jump ball on the inbounds pass and took possession. Mac missed a shot, but UST turned it over after getting a rebound with :07 left. Trina PaStarr missed a go-ahead shot with :03 left, Holly Schneidermayer rebounded under the basket but was unable to get a shot as the buzzer sounded.  

The Scots' Ann Baltzer had 16 of her 23 points in the second half before fouling out with one minute left. PaStarr had 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The Scots, who were trying to swep St. Thomas for the first time in 24 seasons, made just 2-of-14 from 3-point range in the first half then nailed 6-of-8 treys in the second half.
