Volleyball runs streak to 16, gains playoff final spot

Nicole Potts had 10 kills, 11 digs and three aces to lead second-seed St. Thomas (29-3) to a 3-0 win over third-seed Bethel (22-9) in Thursday's MIAC semifinal round playoff match at UST's Schoenecker Arena.

St. Thomas, which ran its season win streak to 16, advances to play at Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday in the playoff finals.

The top-seed Cobbers took a 3-0 win over fourth-seed St. Ben's to extend their winning streak to 13.

Kelly Foley had 14 kills and four blocks, Bri Peters had 10 kills and nine digs, Taylor Cross had eight kills, Ashley Maher had 40 assists and 14 digs, and Kaitlain Wachter had 16 digs.

Amy Werner had 12 kills and sx blocks, Nicole Wriedt had 11 kills and Valerie Smith had 22 digs for the Royals.

The Tommies have won 16 in a row on their home court dating back to Sept. 2010. In their 7-0 home run this season, they have won 21 of 22 games played.
