Allison Parnell's goal 3:02 into sudden-death overtime lifted St. Thomas Women's Hockey to a 3-2 comeback win over No. 9-ranked Augsburg in Saturday afternoon's MIAC playoff championship game on the Auggies' home ice in Minneapolis.
The Tommies (14-10-4) ran their unbeaten streak to seven (6-0-1) -- including three wins over ranked teams -- and secured the program's fourth consecutive conference playoff title.
St. Thomas became the first MIAC women's team to win three playoff games for the championship as a No. 4 or 5 seed.
Coach Tom Palkowski's Tommies will learn their NCAA bracket on Monday morning.
Sophomore Kenzie Torpy stopped 36 shots and helped kill off all 10 Augsburg power plays. In her last two contests, both road overtime playoff wins, Torpy combined to stop all 27 shots in the third periods and overtimes.
Rebecca Sonnek had 33 saves for Augsburg (19-7).
Kathryn Larson had a goal and an assist for UST, including the tying goal with 12:47 to go in the final period.
Augsburg drew a penalty on an attack just 22 seconds into sudden-death overtime. But UST killed off the advantage, and just 40 seconds later converted with Parnell, assisted by Leah Schwartzman and Erika Bjorkman.
