W. Hockey rolls 4-2, avenges January loss

Junior Paige Kittelson stopped 27 of 29 shots in goal and the visiting Tommie Women's Hockey team received goals from four different players in Wednesday night's 4-2 road victory at UW-Stevens Point.

The Tommies (10-10-3) avenged last month's 6-1 home loss to the Pointers with two goals in the first and two more in the third that built a 4-0 lead.

Kathryn Larson scored a short-handed goal and added an assist. Sophomore Rylie McDonell scored her first goal of the season, and Ellie Tabaka also scored in the opening frame.

Leah Schwartzman made it 3-0 with a third-period goal, and now has scored a point in 10 of her last 12 games.

Stevens Point (12-10-2) scored twice midway through the final frame but was unable to get any closer.

St. Thomas closes its regular season with two games this weekend against St. Olaf -- Friday night in Northfield, and Saturday afternoon in Mendota Heights.
