Schwartzman goal, Torpy shutout lift W. Hockey

Kenzie Torpy had 22 saves and recorded her first shutout of the season and Leah Schwartzman recorded the game's only goal midway through the second period in Friday night's 1-0 Tommie women's hockey win at Concordia-Moorhead.

The teams play again in Moorhead Saturday at 2 p.m. The Toms and Cobbers are now tied for fourth place, just three points out of the MIAC lead with five games to play in the regular-season race.

St. Thomas (8-8-3 overall, 7-3-3 MIAC) improved to 6-1-1 in its last eight games. Kaylee Druk and Anna Williams assisted on the game's lone goal.

Torpy, who had four shutouts last season as a freshman starter, helped kill off both Cobber power plays.
