Softball home Saturday games postponed

St. Thomas' home softball doubleheader with Carleton set for Sat. April 13 has been postponed until Thursday April 20. Game one begins at 3:30 p.m. at South Field.

St. Thomas Softball collected 23 runs and 22 hits while allowing just two earned runs over 12 innings in Thursday's 15-3, 8-1 twinbill sweep at Concordia-Moorhead.

Fourteen different Toms had a hit or scored a run on the day. Chase Shortly had a homer, double and five RBI in game one. On the day. Megan Bush drove in four runs, while Dana Connelly had four hits.

Sammy Hogan struck out five and allowed one run on a seven-inning complete game in the nightcap. Three UST pitchers allowed one earned run in game one.

The Tommies (22-6 overall, 9-3 MIAC) are home Saturday for 1 p.m. conference twinbill with Carleton.

With five MIAC doubleheaders left to play, St. Ben's (11-1), St. Thomas and Hamline (9-3 apiece), St. Catherine (8-4) and St. Olaf (7-5) lead the chase for four playoff spots.
