No. 10-ranked Augsburg scored twice in the final period and held on for a 3-2 victory over No. 14-ranked St. Thomas in Saturday night's MIAC Playoff championship game in Mendota Heights.

Corbin Chapman scored the game-winner with 5:45 to go, and UST was unable to score the equalizer. It was the Auggies' second consecutive MIAC men's hockey playoff title and automatic NCAA playoff berth.

St. Thomas took seond-period leads of 1-0 and 2-1 on goals by Michael Dockry and Brett Gravelle.

The Tommies (14-7-5) are likely deep on the bubble and will await Monday's NCAA playoff bracket announcement to see if they could get one of four at-large berths into the 12-team national tournament.
