Men's Hockey gets sweep of Gusties

Johnny Roisum scored two goals and St. Thomas Men's Hockey recorded a 5-2 home-ice win over Gustavus Saturday night in Mendota Heights.

UST (3-2-1 overall, 2-0 MIAC) closed out a weekend series sweep.

Twelve different Toms had a goal or an assist in the victory.

First-year starter Benjamin Myers was in goal for the win for the second night in a row. Myers stopped 20 of 21 shots on the road on Friday and 24 of 26 on Saturdaty and improved to 3-0-1 on the season.

St. Thomas plays Bethel in a conference series Nov. 18-19 in Blaine and Mendota Heights, respectively.

Cullen Willox recorded a goal and an assist and Benjamin Myers stopped 20 of 21 shots as Tommie Men's Hockey scored a 3-1 road win at Gustavus in the MIAC season opener Friday night in St. Peter.

UST scored three goals in a 17:30 span of periods one and two for a 3-0 lead.

Jake Zeleznikar and Chris Benson each collected their first goals of the season for the Tommies (2-2-1 overall, 1-0 MIAC). UST had a 29-21 shots-on-goal advantage.
