St. Thomas used a single and three wild pitches to take a 3-2 walk off victory over Illinois Wesleyan in Friday night's NCAA softball regional winners' bracket game in Indianola, Iowa.
UST (39-6) moved on to Saturday's 4 p.m. winners' bracket game vs. Linfield and is assured of a top-three regional finish.
St. Thomas outhit the Titans 8-3 and erased a a 2-0 deficit it its last two at-bats. Senior Marta Radcliffe struck out 11 and pitched a three-hit, complete-game win. She has won her last 19 decisions.
Tied 2-2, Radcliffe led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a single. Pinch runner Alyssa Dunrud moved up to second and third then scored the game-winning run on three wild pitches.
The Titans used three hits, an error and sac fly to score twice in the top of the fifth inning.
Linfield topped Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 10-3 in the other winners' bracket game. Earlier today, Simpson eliminated Fontbonne, 11-0, and Chicago sidelined Central, 8-2.
