Tommies Today -- Headlines for Wed. Feb. 25

Welcome to Tommies Today -- a brief look at St. Thomas varsity sports for Wednesday Feb. 25. It's 10 months until Christmas Day, but Tommie sports fans have been feeling festive of late with a fun and successful sports year playing out.

The Tommie men's basketball team competes at 7:30 tonight at home in the conference playoffs, and UST will have a team in action in each of the next five days.

Tonight's MIAC men's semifinal playoff game between the 13-13 Gusties and 25-0 Tommies will likely sell Action pic out before tipoff in the 1,750 available seat-Schoenecker Arena.

The doors open at 5:30 p.m., and tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for students. No UST passes are accepted, as everyone must buy a ticket. MIAC passes will be honored as space allows but won't guarantee entrance if the building is full.

If Gustavus wins tonght, the Gusties will stay on the road and play Saturday's championship game at either Bethel or Augsburg. If the Tommies win, they will host Saturday's 7:30 championship.

If UST wins tonight, tickets will go on sale immediately after tonight's game in the Schoenecker Arena. There's a limit of eight tickets per person. Any remaining tickets will be sold on campus starting Thursday. The visiting team will receive an allotment of approximately 300 tickets.
