Ekpo, Hutton sharp for Men's T&F at home

Junior All-America Eyo Ekpo cleared a season-best 6-8 1-4 to win Saturday's high jump at the three-team Meet of Saints at O'Shaughnessy Stadium. St. John's, St. Olaf and UST had athletes competing.

Mike Hutton won the 400 meters in 48.17, the fastest time this spring in the MIAC and the fifth-best time on the Tommies' all-time list.

Blake Bordson won the 400 hurdles in a season-best 56.39. Aba Omot won the hammer in a season-best 163-10. Brian Anderson won the steeplechase in a season-best 9:47.11. UST also won the 4x100 relay in 42.89.

UST took 1-2-3-4 in the pole vault with Thomas Foote (14-7), Andy Edmunds (14-7), Jay May (13-11 1-4)) and Benjamin Besch (13-11 1-4). 

Keaton Wendroth (3:59.82) and Ethan Armbruster (4:04.91) placed 2-3 in the 1,500. Cody Jerabek (22.48) and Jeff Rada (22.68) took 2-3 in the 200 meters. Rada (11.11) and Omot (11.17) placed 2-3 in the 100 meters. Joe Wistrcill was third in the 100 hurdles (15.96).

Ben Yorkovich (50.33), Nick Harrison (50.68) and Andrew Leonard (51.01) placed 3-4-5 in the 400 meters. Alex Schroeder (1:54.22), Doug Thoresen (1:54.68) and Doug Mueller (1:54.75) placed 4-5-6 in the 800.  

Derek Vonnahme was fifth in the shot put (44-8 3-4). Nathan Parsons took third in the triple jump (40-5). Nicholas Braunig took third in the long jump (20-2 1-4).
