Men's Track jumper Eyo Ekpo gets MIAC weekly honor

St. Thomas jumper Eyo Ekpo (FR-Andover) Monday was named MIAC Field Athlete of the Week in indoor track and field.

Ekpo had three strong performances on Saturday at the Lake Superior Challenge in Duluth. Ekpo won the high jump with a height of 1.92 m (6-3 1-2). He placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 13.45 m (44-1 1-2), and took third in the long jump with a 6.44 m (21-1 1-2).

In the MIAC indoor season rankings, Ekpo ranks first in the long jump (22-0 3-4) and second in the high jump (6-7 1-2) and triple jump (45-5). His high jump has qualified provisionally for nationals and ranks 14th best.
