The St. Thomas men's hockey team battled to the end but dropped a 3-1 road decision to No. 7-ranked Gustavus in Wednesday's NCAA first-round game in St. Peter.

UST closes its season 13-11-4.

UST trailed 2-0 when Parker Burgess scored with 6:20 left to pull within 2-1. But the Gusties' Ross Ring-Jarvi scored a power-play goal in the final 3:00 to regain a two-goal lead.
