Community Engagement

The St Thomas athletic experience is one that revolves around both excellence and balance.  Our young men are tremendously well-rounded; able to get an amazing education in the classroom as well as on the athletic fields.  In addition, part of this balance involves a keen understanding of their civic duty to become involved in the community; locally, regionally and nationally.  Each year, our players engage in over 1,000 hours of community service projects, volunteer efforts and mission trips.  Some are as local as our “Reading Recess Program” in the elementary schools, some as global as mission trips to Uganda, Guatemala and Costa Rica and several as productive as the Annual “Up ‘Til Dawn” event which has raised over $600,000 and counting to support St Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Child Cancer Research.
 

We firmly believe that growth of one involves reaching out to many and our young men not only embrace and embody this thought, but work tirelessly to become leaders of this very premise.
